San Diego Trade Fair
Fly By Fashion flew from Buffalo, NY to Los Angeles, California on November 29, 2022 and returned back home December 5, 2022.
Here is our recap:
Fly By Fashion went to Los Angeles and San Diego, California for a Virtual Enterprise Trade Fair. We were the only company from outside Souther California and the only all female team. Here, Fly By Fashion sold and bought from other high school VE companies to showcase all our hard work and to build connections in this industry.
Fly By Fashion won Silver for Video Commercial and Radio Commercial categories at the Trade Fair. Along with these high achievements, our company made six-figure sales; accumulating over $100K total. Fly By Fashion is very happy and proud of their results, but are super excited to take this experience and turn it into ambition for growth and bigger things in the future!
On our first night in LA, Fly By Fashion met Rob Best, CEO of S.A.G.E. Global (Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship), for dinner at a local restaurant. As a group, we discussed and learned many tricks from Rob regrading pursuing entrepreneurship and how to best communicate with others in a productive manner.
Our group went to the Malibu beach and went shopping at the Malibu Marketplace. This was the first tourist spot we went to which was such a great starting place for team bonding and learning about the local fashion!
After our first day in Los Angeles, we drove down to our San Diego Island Resort where we treated ourselves to a fancy dinner downtown after exploring the cute Old Town area. After we finished exploring, we had a team meeting in preparation for the trade fair the next day, finalizing our schedule and making last minute adjustments.
Nine of our Fly By Fashion team members took to the water and learned how to surf in the California Coast! With the help of two surfing instructors, the girls enjoying having these lessons and experiencing such a unique activity. You can’t find this in Buffalo, NY!
After our morning surfing extravaganza, we hiked the Santa Monica Mountains. Although it was very foggy and damp, the atmosphere was so freeing and relaxing. We had many laughs on this calming hike!
Next stop the Beachwood Cafe! Our group made it a tourist priority to stop at this cafe since a large portion of the girls love Harry Styles. We had such a memorable time here and many of us left with merchandise!

Fly By Fashion flew to LA in hopes to grow our expertise in the fashion industry and all the smaller details that go into something so detrimental to our current society. Our team is so incredibly grateful for opportunities like these and we hope all our hard work proves just how much. We want to thank our school, chaperones, and parents for allowing us to experience such a beautiful trip! Fly By Fashion cannot wait for the many more trips to come.
