NYC YBS Trip
Fly By Fashion had another incredibly successful trip to New York City this past April. At the VE Youth Business Summit, our team participated in multiple presentations, including the Financial Literacy Challenge, the Global Innovation Challenge, and the YBS Trade Fair. We spent time meeting with executive business leaders to get feedback on our presentations, spent plenty of time shopping, and got to see all of the exciting sights in the City.
At the YBS, Fly By Fashion sold approximately $210,000 in packages! Along with this, we won a Silver distinction for our Sales Pitch, and a Bronze Distinction for our Booth Design! 4 members of our team also participated in the first-ever Financial Literacy Challenge, where FBF took 1st Place! We are so incredibly proud of our team for representing us so well! Our team also made the semi-final round for both the Marketing Plan presentation and the Human Resources Plan presentation! Although we may not have advanced, we learned so much in participating, and it was a great learning experience!
Upon arriving in the city, we were able to explore downtown Manhattan, including Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, and Bryant Park. We were also allowed to practice our presentations to members of the Lippes-Mathias Law Group and got to hear some great feedback and insightful questions.
The first day of YBS was spent in the semi-final rounds of each presentation group, along with Global Innovation Challenge participants. It was another wonderful day of learning and getting a great experience! Later that day, members of our team were able to reconnect with some MSM Alumni, who currently live in/around the NYC area! We got to tell them all about the amazing things FBF is doing.
The following day is the day we’ve been waiting for, the Trade Fair! It was an exciting day, filled with meeting new people, selling our wonderful products, and connecting with businesses from around the world! Our Financial Literacy group advanced to the final round, and our Global Innovation group and Rapid Prototyping groups got to learn more about their programs!
Our final day in the city was filled with plenty more shopping and sightseeing! We visited SoHo, Little Italy, and even got to stop by the 9/11 Memorial. It was an exciting and enlightening day and a great way to end our successful trip to the City!
